Lancashire League - Newton-Le-Willows

A total of eleven Junior players from Burnley Judo Club competed in the latest round of Lancashire League matches, at SKK Judo Club, Newton-Le-Willows. First up was Ashleigh Williamson. Despite fighting very well on the day, she found the going very tough but still performed well enough to win the Bronze medal in her group. Francesca Aldis was another who fought well to also win a Bronze medal, as did Luke Pickles, who was very unlucky to just miss out on the Silver medal position. Dominic Murtagh was yet another player to win a Bronzel medal whereas Chelsea Pickard, despire losing her first fight, recovered enough to win her remaining contests to gain a superb Silver medal.

Daniel Williamson and Bev Cunliffe both put in excellent performances to come away with a Bronze medal apiece. Star players of the day were Liam Demaine and James Tillotson. Both of these vastly improved players turned in exciting performances, winning all of their matches, to earn a Gold medal each. Chris Pickles, fighting in only his second competitive event, performed admirably to win a Bronze medal. James Mottershead found himself against much bigger opposition in his group, but fought well enough to gain the Bronze medal position.
